Honey Bee

Worker honey bee, all females

Drone - male bee
Bombus - bumble bee

Paper Wasps
These are great little predators in the garden, feeding on small insects like aphids. Their small rounds nests are built in a dry spot on a fence, shed or sometimes in your garden attached to stronger plants. You can get very close to them but take care not to bump them. That can result in a short hot sting, but which fades quicker than bees or German wasps..

German Wasp
These are not a creature you want in your garden, as they're scavengers for your compost, your food and other beneficial insects, including bees. They often nest in the ground or under a wood pile and give no warning before a painful, lingering sting!!
